Happy New Year to all. 2011 must be a year of action and the breaking of revolving circles.

I would like to say an especial "salut" to anyone in France who has bought Fly Yellow Moon recently. Vous etes tres magnifique, c'est vrai.

Hopefully I can see some of you when I come over to play a show in February La Boule Noire. French audiences have always been wonderful whenever we've played over there in Guillemots - the shows we did whilst touring 'Through the Windowpane' were real highlights for us. I think we played La Boule Noire then actually. Anyway, I'm playing on February 2nd. You can get tickets here if you want to come listen / watch / both.

I was also recently sent a transcript of a lovely radio piece on French radio - in fact the one mentioned below on the news page. This was, however, somewhat trumped by what Google Translate made of it. I can without doubt say the subsequent Google Translate version is the best piece of writing I have ever wtinessed that has anything to do with me. Some of these quotes will stay with me for life.

This artist has released his first solo album at the end of October 2010 and, slowly, is trying to find its audience through a press rave. This is Fyfe Dangerfield from Birmingham and has just turned 30.

It's kind of brilliant songwriter whose only Brit pop and the secret that most experts have identified as the creator of the excellent band Guillemots.

He will be live on BBC Radio 2 this Saturday night as part of the Neil Diamond night, playing his favourite Neil Diamond song and his own material Live from the Roundhouse in London. Fyfe begins his National UK tour this Thursday in Manchester to a sold out crowd, but before that he will appear on BBC 1, on this Wednesday evening's National Lottery Draw. Fyfe to perform as part of Radio 2's Elvis Concert

Fyfe will be performing as part of Radio 2 Elvis tribute concert in Hyde Park on Sunday Sept 12th. He will be backed by the BBC Concert Orchestra as well as performing a song solo, tune in to Radio 2 from 6:45PM UK time on the 12th for full coverage.

P.s. While you're at it you might want to go Fyfe crazy and purchase the other I-tunes Bonus Track thats on the previously released normal edition of "Fly Yellow Moon". It's called "You're A Friend (and You're Good To Me)" and it's about love. We forgot to put it on the new one although, hell, maybe it will end up there in a few days. We literally just don't know at the moment.

Fyfe on C4 Mercury Sessions this Friday

Earlier in the month Fyfe recorded a session for the Mercury Prize at The Hospital club in London. His first shows with a full band the results are pretty special and will be broadcast this Friday the 16th April on Channel 4, at 1:15AM, which is technically Saturday Morning. There is is also an interview in which he talks about the next Guillemots record as well as his solo project. So if you are not up that late set your Sky Plus or look out for repeats on 4 Music or get it on 4OD.
